Drew Borders is an African American muralist and 2D animator dedicated to elevating the visibility of people of color. Currently freelancing out of Atlanta, GA, Borders earned her B.F.A. in Animation from SCAD, a background that informs the fluid, cinematic energy of her large-scale murals and illustrations.
Borders’ practice is defined by a refusal to center trauma; instead, she utilizes a signature mix of traditional paint and spray paint to capture the radiant history and future of Black culture. Her work has been showcased by major public art organizations and galleries across the East Coast and beyond, including New York, Miami, and Oklahoma. Through every portrait, she strives to bring a sense of vibrancy and dignity to the stories of Black and Brown women.
